Friday, 3/20/2020 - SAU29 COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon,
What a week. I am at a loss for words to describe the overwhelming support of our communities and our staff throughout the course of the past 7 days. Everyone has hit the ground running 100 MPH and have just kept going! I am eternally grateful for everyone’s effort as well as everyone’s patience.

From the onset of this effort, we have had multiple priorities to work through. Before today comes to a close, I believe we will have all of those priorities addressed. Priorities that range from remote learning, to special education, to technology, to meals, to surveys and equally as important, keeping all of our valued employees, we will have structures in place to start next week.

I want to stress that when we implement remote learning on Monday, to please continue with the patience you have afforded all of us. We feel really good about our plan, yet we recognize that we may need to adjust on the go. As we roll out remote learning, please do not hesitate to connect with your child(ren)’s teacher(s) to provide them with feedback on how it is working. That feedback will lend itself to making this as successful as we can possibly make it.

As we head into the weekend, I want to stress to you the importance of self care. Although the sun is expected to be out, the temperatures may not be as pleasant as we would like, try to enjoy some fresh air anyway. I am also including a “Healthy Habits for Well Being” document put together by the New Hampshire Department of Education for your consideration.

Be well!

Thursday, 3/19/2020 - SAU29 COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon,
After another incredibly productive day going full speed ahead with our remote learning efforts, I wanted to pause for a moment and remind people of some important things as we continue to work through this global pandemic here in our communities. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) explains how the COVID-19 virus is spread and recommends ways to protect yourself and others. Please visit their website listed below for further details. I also recommend visiting the other resource pages that are listed, but fully understand how different all of our lives are today compared to even just a week ago. Please remember that they are in this communication for you to access them if and when you feel you may need to.

Wednesday, 3/18/2020 - SAU29 COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon,
I want to start off by stating just how impressive the “can do” attitude has been around our districts. We all are well aware of the uncertainties that we are facing and yet today was, by all accounts that I have received, very productive. While we are still not fully in a place where we can responsibly and fully disseminate the remote learning plans at this time, I have seen communications that have gone out by some teachers to parents and know of instances where teachers are “test running” some of the platforms that will be used. I want to thank you for your patience as we continue to work through this process of preparing for a new manner of teaching and learning. I also want to commend the incredible efforts of our staff as we get this off the ground and running.
Be well!

Tuesday, 3/17/2020 - SAU29 COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon,
As I stated in a message to all of our staff earlier today, we are all navigating uncharted territory along with the rest of the world. These are times of uncertainty which results in a great deal of anxiety for many, if not all, of us. Please know that you are not alone and that in itself unfortunately does not bring relief. With that, I want you all to know that our staff is committed to continuing the education of our students through the foreseeable future.

Monday, 3/16/2020 - SAU29 COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon,

We had a very productive day today preparing for remote learning.  While plans have not been finalized, and they won’t be without the input of our fabulous instructional staff, I feel very confident that they will be ready to go by Monday, March 23, 2020.  Administrators and support staff members have been busy working through logistical hurdles to prepare for remote learning.  Click the Read full story Button for the latest updates.
